Sisterly Classics

I don't remember spending much time on my butt as a child, but there are a few movies we watched enough times to memorize nearly every line at one point or another....

Most of them are musicals! There is nothing more fascinating to us than an entire group of strangers bursting out into choreographed song and dance on a whim....

I can't remember a conversation between me or any of my sisters that did not involve a song or line from one of these movies!

Let me know if you've seen any of them! And for my sisters, I want to know what your favorite part/line for each movie is!

Ok, well, I've thought about it. Do you know how LONG it has been since I've seen any of those?

Anyway, On McLintock, I like the fight scene, of course! and when she says "don't use that range boss tone of voice with me!"

On Inspector General, I like the song "And so we drink...But first we dance".

I have recently watched At War with The Army, and it really isn't worth the time to watch it! It is very POINTLESS and a little boring!! Anyway, the "Beans, nothing but beans" song is so funny!

I really need to get White Christmas, because that is such a great Movie! I don't even think I can come up with a favorite part...you know, the guys singing sisters, the whole going to Vermont scene; all I want is for you to spend 5 minutes with each one...; not so much as a Kiss my foot or Have an apple; ahh, this list could go on all day... or at least as long as the movie is!

I remember liking all the parts of At War With the Army where they are putting on the show, like the "hamburger" part!

On the Town and High Society I need to see again, because I can't think of a favorite part...

Beauty and the Beast we have. I let the kids watch it every now and then, but I skip the whole beginning part with the witch. I wouldn't put it on my favorites list any more.

Ok, I think I got them all in there...

Awe, I love musicals! They make my heart want to get up and dance, and sing! & spin around my child in my arms running though a field of flowers! :) I should watch more, I usually get the musical itch during the winter :) Good choices here!

Oh, my goodness! I'm actually going to have to think?

On The Town: I haven't seen it in forever but I like the "magnetism, sheer magnetism" line and the "we could be swabbing the deck" song!
I remember loving the girls coordinating outfits and the girl/sailor couples! (like my fav pix!)Oh, and I have a new afinity for "The Bronx is up and the Battery's down" now!

McClintock: I just love this movie! "Daddy, he impuned my honor!" The old Indian's always looking for whisky! The classic spanking scenes! the "down the hatch" scene. the line, "I come close to killing you when we were younger. It saddens me I didn't" comes to mind a lot!

OK, I have to go, I'll have to do the rest later!
